Every child deserves a safe place to learn, grow, and dream. In Ethiopia’s capital city, many children live on the streets without reliable food, shelter, or education.

The Hall Steps Foundation works to change that through community-led programs that provide housing, daily meals, mentorship, and job training. Each gift helps children rebuild their lives and create their own futures.

Meet Ryan and Sara Hall

Ryan and Sara Hall built their lives around running and their belief that effort and endurance can change the world. As two of the most accomplished distance runners in the United States, they have competed on the sport’s biggest stages and learned that real progress happens step by step.

Their adoption journey in Ethiopia gave that purpose new direction. There, they met children living on the streets and families working tirelessly to survive. The experience showed them that endurance is not only about racing; it is about resilience, compassion, and showing up for others.

They founded The Hall Steps Foundation to turn movement into meaning, connecting the running community and supporters everywhere to children in Ethiopia who deserve the chance to grow up safe, educated, and independent.
